A fresh washer each cycle, so the connection seats tightly when you refit the head.

When to replace
Roughly every three months — sooner in harder water.
Media works by being consumed. The honest answer is that your interval depends on your water and how much you shower, so treat three months as the rhythm rather than a rule.
